Regina Spektor - Laughing With

i think this song has to be one of my all-time favourite songs - regina spektor has a magical voice, with her dulcet tones are instantly soothing and possess the ability to dissapate any of my worries. for once i seem to be at a loss for words in order to describe her music adaquetely, so i suggest that you just listen to this and all will becom crystal! if you are to listen to just one of her albums, pick Far

poland is continuing to be a perfect adventure, filled with friends, teaching Europeans the joys and jubilations of Ring of Fire, flirting with barmen till they let you pour pints and mix your own cocktails and exploring the city! it's now getting so cold that your breath curls out in little cloudy mushroom puffs and i'm barely surviving! when winter really arrives (hello temperatures of -20 degrees!) i'm not certain what i'm going to do...i think i'll have to hibernate till march!

my new beautiful pin-up flowers from this ebay seller (expect a longer post on these) - classic polka dot nails - my new f21 leopard print mary-jane heels - painting with my little cousin Maja - borrowing jumpers from boys because you're incapable of dressing yourself appropriately

what things have been floating that proverbial boat of yours this week?

Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold

sometimes you have one of those days when only dressing up will do, even if you don't venture further than your local town! yesterday was one of those days, and i gleefully donned my previously unworn dress, victory rolled the sides of my hair AND gave myself a rolled fringe that perhaps bettie would be proud of (maybs)!

i love wearing my hair in a 1940s style - it always gets compliments and is surprisingly easy to do, once you master the pincurl/victory roll! it's also unerving how DIFFERENT i look with the hair swept from the sides of my face and with a little rolled fringe (i'm almost thinking my face looks REALLY round and doughy?!).

ps. i hope you enjoy my feeble attempts to try and make my photos look more vintage-y!

dress - topshop

what do you think of the vintage/pinup look? have you ever tried it?

Katy Perry - Firework

hopefully i can stop with the lame-o webcam photos VERY soon, as my best claire (and friend) has kindly given me her old camera, as she's moved onto digital pastures new. i'll get a better picture ASAP and update!

this is an excellent hairstyle when you're being vile like me and can't face the task of washing a mane of hair (for four days, COUGH).

it's simply most my hair scraped back into a messy bun with a front bit sectioned off. you roll a simple victory roll/pin curl hybrid with the sectioned off front bit, securing with bobby pins, and then fasten a red headband around for a kinda rockabilly feel. it's a goddamn GODSEND when you simply cannot be bothered to do anything with your hair and dry shampoo is no longer being absorbed.

i've been doing ALOT of things recently - this is my first sober night in 10 days as i've been celebrating end of exams. i've spent the best part of this time in various pubs and clubs, and i went to a party with a hotub and i ended up going home in my bikini and no shoes. not that i remember how i got home, as i woke up all nakey and in my bed, but y'know, safe & sound.

i hope everyone has finished their exams, or the end is at least in sight! how on EARTH have you been letting your hair down?

For My Lover, Tracy Chapman

so today, as whilst wearing my fail-safe classic red (Revlon's Matte 006 Really Red), i decided to victory roll my fringe, as an ode to my best friend claire over at little love.

she faithfully and admirably wears her victory rolled fringe proudly out of front doors (which i am terrifed to do!)! let's just admire her drink sipping skills!

things are a little peculiar at the moment - new year means very much a new me, in all the dimensions! i don't have resolutions as such, just one really.

- DO WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY FOR ONCE.

(and of course, the usual; lose 7 pounds, up my skincare routine, exercise more, revamp my wardrobe - but the aforementioned is the ultimate goal!)
